MGM Resorts Teams Up with Playtech for Live Casino Experience Streaming from MGM Grand and Bellagio in Las Vegas
Playtech announced that the MGM Live games, featuring single and double-zero roulette as well as baccarat, will be accessible to operators in regulated markets outside the US.
In an interview with iGaming Business, Playtech COO Shimon Akad revealed that MGM Live will first target the markets of Mexico and the UK. Subsequent launches in other regulated markets are planned to follow.
“We will review the feasibility of offering this in the US over time and in line with igaming regulation,” Akad explained.
“The Las Vegas experience has always been the most unique gaming experience in our industry. [Customers in regulated markets] will experience the authentic sounds and visuals of Vegas and, in the future, experience immersive entertainment experiences,” Akad said.
Live dealer product will provide “unparalleled experiences”
MGM Resorts CEO Bill Hornbuckle asserts that our content, celebrity talent, and sophisticated gaming experience will set an unparalleled standard in the industry.
“The launch of this new and exciting live casino offering, in partnership with Playtech and directly from Bellagio and MGM Grand in Las Vegas, furthers our strategic vision to be the world’s premier gaming entertainment company,” Hornbuckle said.
“This collaboration amplifies our commitment to providing unparalleled experiences and expands our global reach to our customers,” he said.
“This alliance combines the strength of MGM Resorts’ global prestige with Playtech’s extensive international market knowledge and innovative games.”
Plans are underway to expand our portfolio with exclusive access to a range of Playtech games, branded TV game shows, celebrity-hosted trivia events, and other unique entertainment experiences in Las Vegas.

“If you think of the Vegas attraction and picture one of the world’s most popular game shows, infused with the allure and the charisma of celebrity hosts, that’s what we are creating for the players,” Akad said, noting this was currently in development.
The COO said Playtech was honoured to have been selected as MGM Resort’s technology partner.
“[We] share a common vision to develop and deliver innovative and state-of-the-art entertainment products and experiences in the digital and igaming spaces,” he added.
MGM Resorts realises lofty omnichannel ambitions
In December 2023, MGM CEO Bill Hornbuckle revealed to iGB that the company aims to establish a comprehensive omnichannel ecosystem across Europe and beyond.
Following the $604 million acquisition of LeoVegas, MGM launched BetMGM in the UK, aiming to expand its footprint in markets where it lacks a physical presence.
“Through BetMGM, both domestically and ultimately through what we do with LeoVegas – whether that’s in Europe, Canada or South America – we want to diversify into digital. We think it’s a meaningful way to continue to reach customers 365 days a year,” Hornbuckle said at the time.
